Unit 12: Goal 4 - I will learn...

Remember choice is a spectrum, and you want to scaffold your students toward self-directed work. The first goal had a list of options to choose from. They were all skills that could be done on paper. For this goal, you may want to attach a note to the list stating the student may choose a skill not on the list with teacher approval, add your own list of options, or remove the list entirely when you feel your students are ready.

When assessing for mastery on Studio Days, the verb is important. The instructions tell the student to evaluate their progress. If their writing is not evaluative at all, then they may receive credit for the image, but will not receive credit for the writing. They will need to add to their writing and re-submit.
